*PRAYER OF CONFESSION (unison) Trustworthy Creator, holy Son, caring Spirit, our love for you is not as it should be.

Other loves and wants and desires compete for our energy, our time, our money. Too often we choose these other directions rather

than you. In your love you have called us your children, yet we admit that we stray from you and your call, turning to the ways of sin

and bad choices. Forgive us for our straying. Forgive us for choosing anything over you. Continue to love us and draw us into your kingdom.

(silence is observed for reflection and prayer) ASSURANCE OF PARDON L: Sisters and brothers,

let us begin anew to be the people God calls us to be: instruments of Gods love in this world. By the grace and love of God, know you are forgiven! Thanks be to God!

P: Thanks be to God! Alleluia! Amen! Special Music My Tribute PROCLAIMING THE WORD SCRIPTURE READING:

Genesis 22:1-18 From the United Methodist Website: Genesis 22:1-14 The attempted sacrifice of Isaac. Strong suggestion: Unless you are preaching on this text today as part of your ongoing series,

do not read it in worship. After these things God tested Abraham. He said to him, Abraham! And he said, Here I am. He said, Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him

there as a burntoffering on one of the mountains that I shall show you. So Abraham rose early in the morning, saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and his son Isaac; he cut the wood for the burnt-offering,

and set out and went to the place in the distance that God had shown him. On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place far away. Then Abraham said to his young men, Stay here with the

donkey; the boy and I will go over there; we will worship, and then we will come back to you. Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on his son Isaac, and he himself

carried the fire and the knife. So the two of them walked on together. Isaac said to his father Abraham, Father! And he said Here I am, my son. He said, The fire and the wood are here,

but where is the lamb for a burnt-offering? Abraham said, God himself will provide the lamb for a burnt-offering, my son. So the two of them walked on together. When they came to the place that God had shown

him, Abraham built an altar there and laid the wood in order. He bound his son Isaac, and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. Then Abraham reached out his hand and took the knife to kill his son. But the

angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, Abraham, Abraham! And he said, Here I am. He said, Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God,

since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me. And Abraham looked up and saw a ram, caught in a thicket by its horns. Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burntoffering instead of his son. So

Abraham called that place The Lord will provide; as it is said to this day, On the mount of the Lord it shall be provided. The angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time from heaven, and said, By myself I have sworn, says the Lord:

Because you have done this, and have not withheld your son, your only son, I will indeed bless you, and I will make your offspring as numerous as the stars of heaven and as the sand that is

on the seashore. And your offspring shall possess the gate of their enemies, and by your offspring shall all the nations of the earth gain blessing for themselves, because you have obeyed my

voice. L: This is the Word of the Lord. P: Thanks be to God! Faithful Rev. Tedd Pullano *HYMN Trust and Obey v.1

When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word, what a glory He sheds on our way! While we do His good will, He abides with us still, and with all

who will trust and obey. *HYMN Trust and Obey v.1 Trust and obey, for theres no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

*HYMN Trust and Obey v.2 Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies, but His smile quickly drives it away; Not a doubt nor a

fear, not a sigh nor a tear, can abide while we trust and obey. *HYMN Trust and Obey v.2 Trust and obey, for theres no other way to be happy in Jesus,

but to trust and obey. *HYMN Trust and Obey v.3 Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share, but our toil He doth richly repay; Not a grief or a loss,

not a frown or a cross, but is blest if we trust and obey. *HYMN Trust and Obey v.3 Trust and obey, for theres no other way to be happy in Jesus,

but to trust and obey. *HYMN Trust and Obey v.4 But we never can prove the delights of His love until all on the altar we lay, For the favor He

shows and the joy He bestows are for those who will trust and obey. *HYMN Trust and Obey v.4 Trust and obey, for theres no other way to be happy in Jesus,

but to trust and obey. *HYMN Trust and Obey v.5 Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet, or well walk by His side in the way;

What He says we will do, where He sends we will go; Never fear, only trust and obey. *HYMN Trust and Obey v.5 Trust and obey, for

theres no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey. OFFERING OUR GIFTS TO GOD Offertory Invitation Offertory

Lord! L: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. P: It is right to give God thanks and praise. L: We thank you, O God, for calling Abraham to be your servant and to bring your blessings to all the

world. We thank you for then making a covenant, a deal, with Israel, promising to be Israels light and salvation. You made Israel your people, and promised that through them all the peoples of the world would be blessed. We thank you that

we are now your people, and that the covenant is now with us. We are grateful for prophets, apostles, martyrs, and everyone who has shared your life-giving Word; for the leaders who ruled with justice, for all who lifted up the poor and needy, and defended the people from

their enemies. With all those through the ages who have loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and with all who try so hard to serve him here and now, we join our voices in offering praise to you, the God who guides us in love: P: Holy, holy, holy Lord,

God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. L: In sending Jesus the Christ, the

obedient one, you revealed to the nations how your love works. He preached and taught and followed your call. He put total trust in you trust even unto death. For that we are deeply thankful. P: Praise to you, Lord

Jesus: by dying, you destroyed sin and death; by rising, you offer us resurrection life. Lord Jesus, come again. L: God of light, let your Holy Spirit move in power and love over us and over these earthly gifts of

bread and wine. By our sharing of them may we experience the mystery of true communion of the body and blood of Christ, and may we become one in him. The Lords Prayer (unison) Our Father, who art in

Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come; thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors;

and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

WORDS OF INSTITUTION On the night he was arrested, while they were eating together and having fellowship, Jesus reached over, took some bread, blessed

it, broke it, and gave it to his disciples and told them, Take this and eat it. This is my body, given for you. Do this remembering me and my example. In the

same way, as the meal ended, he took the cup from the table, and said, This cup I have here is the new covenant, new hope, which will be sealed in my

blood; blood I will shed for you for the forgiveness of your sins. Whenever you drink it, remember me. Jesus tells us boldly: I am the bread of

life. If any of you come to me, you wont be hungry; if any of you believe in me, you will never be thirsty. Friends, every time you eat this bread and drink

this cup, you proclaim the saving death of the risen Lord until he comes and you experience the grace of God. SHARING OF THE BREAD AND CUP Distribution of the Bread

(bread is gluten free) (to symbolize our common experience of Gods grace, please retain the bread until all have been served). SHARING OF THE BREAD AND CUP Distribution of the Cup (to symbolize our individual experience of Gods grace, please drink the cup

as it is served). PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION All: Loving God, we give you thanks for satisfying our hungry hearts with this holy meal shared in the Spirit with Jesus, your Son.

Strengthened and refreshed, we go from here to continue his work in the world through sincere worship, faithful witness and service to others shaped by unconditional love. Continue to empower us with

love as we go forth. Through Jesus the Christ our Lord, we pray. Amen. BEARING AND FOLLOWING THE WORD INTO THE WORLD *HYMN #564 O Beautiful for Spacious Skies v.1
