Changes to Verification Procedures for SY2018 - 2019 DONNA RATLIFF DIGITAL EDUCATION SEPTEMBER 6, 2018 VERIFICATION CHANGES Beginning with SY2018 2019 there is a change in Verification procedures USDA is requiring that districts meet certain qualifications in order to do a verification method other than Standard ALL districts will be required to perform the Standard verification method unless the district applies and receives approval to perform the Alternate I or Alternate II verification methods Districts who are on the Standard List due to errors in the previous years verification process or a response rate that was greater than 20% are REQUIRED to perform Standard verification and may NOT apply to do an alternate method APPLYING FOR ALTERNATE METHOD A Commissioners Memo has been sent Commissioners Memo contains the application for an alternate method of verification CEP and Provision 2 districts and districts choosing to perform the Standard method do not need to apply Applications are due by close of business (5:00pm) Friday, September 21st, 2018 NO EXCEPTIONS - Applications are to be emailed to [email protected] Any district failing to meet the deadline will be required to perform the Standard verification method APPLYING FOR ALTERNATE METHOD Districts who perform an Alternate method of verification without prior approval will be required to do a new verification pull using the Standard method and will be placed on the Standard List for the following year

Failure to follow the new procedures may also result in a finding with Legislative Audit and an Administrative Review finding Applications must have all Verification Contact information completed Applications must be signed by the Child Nutrition Director APPROVAL FOR ALTERNATE METHOD Districts will be emailed a signed copy of the application indicating whether the district has been approved or denied Districts must print the application and file with their verification documentation Failing to print and file this document may result in a Legislative Audit or Administrative Review finding BEFORE districts begin an Alternate verification method, districts must complete the application and approval process Districts choosing to perform the Standard method are not required to complete the application process Please refer to Section 6 Verification of the Eligibility Guidance for School Meals for additional information about the verification process 18-19 Required Standard List LEA School District LEA School District 0201000 CROSSETT 3604000 LAMAR 3302000 MELBOURNE 7304000 WHITE CO.
